A woman whose body was found face-down in the sand at North Cronulla beach on Wednesday morning has been identified as a 26-year-old Nepalese national.
Two women who were exercising at the beach had found the woman’s body around 5am and alerted police, who set up a crime scene.
The woman was fully clothed but not carrying anything that could identify her, and police launched a public appeal for information to assist them in doing so.
They were able to formally identify her on Thursday afternoon.
Police do not believe the woman’s death was suspicious, but are continuing their inquiries.
Investigators are continuing to request information from the public in order to put a complete picture together of the woman’s movements in the days leading up to her death.
