I was taken aback by the audacious and pragmatic speech that Zuckerberg had made during Harvard graduation ceremony. His speech to me sounded like nectar of knowledge and wisdom. Most of the young generations like myself have been striving to get just the kind of job that helps us to making our living but ironically, even being qualified in multifarious subjects we are not able to get the jobs that we are utterly passionate about. I sometimes, poke a question to myself what am I going to do with those pile of certificates in my folders when I do not have common sense to fix minor problems that seem to occur in our day to day life such as fixing the laptop, water tap, and so on.
In this instance, I do feel intellectually-outraged and morally-panicked that the way we have been studying decade or so long has finally nothing other than to accumulate a bundle of certificates for our academic traditional hollow-pride.
It is important to know what it means to study. Indeed, we were meant to be studying in the pursuit of making our life comfortable and secured just getting away with any kind of impending risk and danger on the road of our future. For instance to deal with the climate change, pandemic diseases, and list goes on and on. This is precisely what it means to be studying. But sadly, our academic-labour is bruising our ego but not catching our fancy to see how things are the way they are, or suffice to say to have a mental acumen to think outside the square for realizing the boundless opportunities which could have been grabbed so easily by dint of our common sense.
In this juncture, what strikes me is this, our late poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota once said this, in order to gain knowledge it is not compulsory to attend University, a person can gain knowledge even just by observing the plant of rose. This is a classic example in how we need to view the ocean of opportunities even in the abandoned realm of imagination. The joined-up thinking is a key to extrapolate the fathomless opportunities and success. It is true that Zuckerberg is a college dropout. However, his current immense crowning-glory, international-reputation, and cybernetic-leadership have made his name synonymous to the tongues of millions of people. He has learnt the value of time and the kind of knowledge that the Universities of Twenty-first century are not yet able to offer. What to study is remotely less important than how to study. Take a hard-look; this is what Zuckerberg’s life self-evidently epitomizes.
Last but not least, His telescopic-philanthropy is yet another topic to bring on the table for how he has been helping many nations in the difficult situations by raising funds and by implementing the potential power of Facebook to connect and help global citizens more effectively than we could imagined. I personally believe this man does have the real zeal to become a president of the United States, because he has showed his moral, political, and the whole shebang of charisma to be organically competent and compatible with the world. He is a source of inspirations, hope, energy, and so forth.
