Melbourne: Gulmi Samaj Victoria in collaboration with Nep Aus Crews from Australia organized the online dance competition, marking Nepalese women festival “Teej”. They announced the winner on 23rd August, i.e. in Rishi Panchami.
Anusha Raut won the first prize, Soni Gurung won the second prize and Rupa Lama won the third prize in the competition, all of them are from Nepal. Expert Education sponsored this competition where the first winner got $750, second got $500 and third got $250 respectively. Whereas, all the top 10 participants got $50 each as per the organizer team.
They have requested every participant to send their videos until 19th August, from where the top 10 dance was selected by the team of judges Bam Bahadur Karki, Manju Poudel, Sayad Shrestha, Kriti Khanal, and Bidhur Sapkota. The top 10 videos were uploaded on social media. The winners were selected based on likes, comments, and shares, where 30% was marked for public response and 70%, was marked by judges themselves.
Due to the pandemic, the communities were unable to organize teej programs this year so, this online teej dance competition was held. They have appreciated the sponsors, judges, contestants, communities, viewers, media, and the entire association for supporting this program.
