Melbourne: Victoria has recorded 278 new cases of COVID-19 and, sadly, eight deaths, down from the record-breaking daily toll of 725 cases from last week. NSW has recorded 12 new cases and one death overnight.
There are 8631 active cases in Australia where 12774 has already recovered and 361 deaths till now.
The Victorian government will increase the payment to people self-isolating after a COVID test from $300 to $450.
